This map shows the routes followed by the principal explorers of what is now Canada, from 1497 up to 1905. The map also shows the location of forts with the date of their establishment. It was created using Image:Canada, Routes of Explorers,1497 to 1905.jpg. Image remains at original size and was created using copy past from the pdf file into Microsoft Photo Editor.

This image is Free to use with the condition the coorporations advise the NRC so they may send them one of the most up to date pictures. The NRC is a government organization of Canada and for this reason it is believed that this image meets the requirement for Free Use.

Further more, if by pure argument it didn't meet the GNU free licence, under the WP:Image policy, Fair Use, this picture may be an important discussion of a disputed territory (or a territory that changed names). For use in the article Ottawa Islands.
