The marker reads: "Abraham Lincoln traveled this way as he rode the circuit of the Eighth Judicial District, 1847-1859. Erected 1922." At its base there is two placards one on the left reads "DEWITT COUNTY" and the one on the right reads "PIATT COUNTY"
