The text on the memorial reads: "Hier wurde Gfm. Erwin Rommel am 14.10.1944 zum Freitod gezwungen! Er nahm den Giftbecher und opferte sich, um das Leben seiner Familie vor den Schergen Hitlers zu retten."

- Dutch translation: "Hier werd Gfm. Erwin Rommel op 14 oktober 1944 tot zelfmoord gedwongen! Hij nam de gifbeker en offerde zich, om het leven van zijn familieleden te redden van de beulsknechten van Hitler."

- English translation: "On this spot Field Marshal Erwin Rommel was forced to commit suicide on October 14th, 1944. He took the cup of poison and sacrificed himself, to save the lives of his family from Hitler's henchmen."

- Spanish translation: "En este sitio el Mariscal de Campo Erwin Rommel fue forzado a suicidarse el 14 de Octubre de 1944. Bebió la copa de veneno, sacrificando su vida para salvar las vidas de su familia de las manos de Hitler y sus secuaces."

- Polish translation: "W tym miejscu, dnia 14 października 1944 roku feldmarszałek Erwin Rommel został zmuszony do popełnienia samobójstwa. Zażywając truciznę poświęcił się dla ratowania swojej rodziny od śmierci z rąk podwładnych Hitlera."

- Hungarian translation: "Ezen a helyen Erwin Rommelt öngyilkosság elkövetésére kényszerítették 1944. október 14-én. Kiitta a méreggel telt csészét, és feláldozta önmagát, hogy megmentse családja életét Hitler csatlósaitól."
