Summary

CVN angled flight deck animation illustrating advantages of offsetting the recovery area. It allows for aircraft recovery and launches at the same time without the risk of collision posed by such operations on an axial deck aircraft carrier. This is a new version of the animation, using textured planes and flight deck of USS Dwight D. Eisenhower (CVN-69). A F/A-18E on catapult 2 takes off, (note steam escaping as catapult releases) followed by a S-3 which bolters, followed by the launch of an E-2C on catapult 1. Finally an EA-6B catching the wire for a successful landing. Also on the flightdeck are another S-3, several F/A-18Es, and a SH-60.
