Uzbekistan child sponsorship

Letter to child sponsors from Tashkent.

Present time there are 100 children in CV Tashkent, out of them 1 girl finished the Cartography and Geodesy College and works, 5 are the students of Colleges. In May, 8 teenagers finished the comprehensive schools and entered the vocational colleges on the exam bases in order to continue their education.
In April, 15 2007 was conducted a meeting of CV Tashkent Committee on implementation of plan for 2008 – 2009 with defining of priority standards. There were discussed training programmes and defined deadlines to present the plan with budget proposal to NO for approval. For 14 children who showed best academic results during the academic year and good behavior were organized trips to winter and summer camps. A number of creative, academic and sport circlets functions in our Village. From January 2007 English hobby group started its functioning.
4 children with additional needs were transferred to specialized school for needed children from January. Other 2 children with additional needs attend comprehensive schools.

During the targeted period were conducted the following trainings for teenagers: “Work in a team”, ”We are a team”, “Sexual education”, “Work with a child’s fear”, ”Oratorical skills”, “Prevention of HIV/AIDS and drug”, “how to find a job”, “Professional guidance”, “ a child’s rights”. 3 main documentations were developed, which support youngsters in their way to independent life: “Housing of SOS youngsters”, “Financial support of SOS youngsters”, “Semi independent living programme”.
From January was employed new YF Leader. In April was organized the orientation programme in Armenia for deeply introducing the work with youngsters.

From February, started to work new Village Director. In March new employed Director had the orientation programme in CV Samarkand. a 2–day- trip was organized to historical city Bukhara for 11 children.
3–day field training for SOS – Mother and Aunts was organized in mountains for relaxation. Together with new employed workers administrative staff had a field training in the mountains on team building. Recruitment work of SOS – mothers is still conducted. There are 10 SOS mothers and 7 SOS aunts. In May 2 new SOS mother candidates had basic theoretical training in the CV Tashkent. Nowadays they have II stage of recruitment process - practical training in CV Samarkand.

We promote our organisation by dealing with other organisations, telling them who we are, our missions. Thus “Friend’s Day” was held for all local sponsors and new ones to introduce the SOS Village work. This activity was dated for the International Children’s Day. There were contests on painting on the asphalt on theme “My Hero”, exhibition of children works and concert programme.
During summer break period 25 children will attend swimming pool. Our hobby groups corporate with other different organizations in the similar sphere. Thus, our children visited Uzbek-Japan Cultural Center in order to get acquainted with the Japan culture.

12 children successfully passed preschool tests and in September they will be admitted to the first class of secondary school.

Regarding the works on Danuta and Danila, 4 teenagers work as volunteers during the summer break for their smooth transfer to adult life. For the targeted period 22 children had a chance to rehabilitate in the Sanatorium on the free basis. In April was successfully operated our 15 year-old boy, who had congenital heart disease in State hospital on free basis. It was a serous and hard operation to the very heart. In March the specialists from Choreography College examined our girls in order to reveal capable ones for the admission to their College. Thus, 2 of our girls of 14 years were chosen to continue their education there in specialized way.
