£4,000 donation from HSBC following customer survey

12/02/2008

launch of World Orphan Week

At the launch of World Orphan Week (WOW) on 4 February 2008, the Global Transaction Banking e-Channels team at HSBC presented SOS Children with a cheque for £4,000. To incentivise customers to complete an HSBCnet customer survey, HSBC committed a donation to SOS Children for every survey completed.

The team chose SOS Children for its charity as recommended by Bob Pankhania at the HSBC Global Education Trust. The Trust has a multi-million dollar partnership with SOS Children, supporting thousands of SOS children around the world by helping to provide access to education. When asked why he recommended SOS Children, Bob said “SOS is a worthwhile charity, matching our global footprint and the funding raised goes to help underprivileged children for the long term.”

Responsetek, the company supporting the technical side of the survey, also donated £1,700. Many thanks for their kind support as well.

We are very grateful for these generous donations, which will ensure that more children around the world have a family for life.
